Habitat employees cut and package dozens of different artificial-grass accent rugs, indoor-outdoor and remnant rugs, putting greens, driving mats and novelty recreational items. Some products are sold under the Habitat name, while others are packaged for brands such as Beaulieu of America, Top Flite, Izzo and JEF World of Golf. Habitat also creates custom steel architectural pieces and yard art. Major retailers that carry our products include The Home Depot, Lowe’s and Orchard Supply.
In several unique partnerships with other businesses, including former competitors, Habitat workers perform labor-intensive tasks that might otherwise be outsourced overseas or eliminated by automation.
In 2004, Habitat also launched a new line of high-end Giclee printing for painters, photographers and other artists.
Note: A giclee (zhee-CLAY) is an
individually produced, high-resolution, high-fidelity reproduction done
on a special large format printer. Giclees are produced from digital
scans of existing artwork. Giclees can be printed on any number of
media, from canvas to watercolor paper to transparent acetates. Giclees
are superior to traditional lithography in several ways. The colors are
brighter, last longer, and are so high-resolution that they are
virtually continuous tone, rather than tiny dots.
